   YOUR COUNCILS

Sometimes Constituents ask us "what's the difference between Kent County Council and Gravesham Borough Council". After all, both are referred to as 'The Council'. We have tried to demystify local government in Gravesham and hopefully point you in the right direction should you need to contact KCC with a problem.

About 75% of your Council Tax is paid to KCC. The other 25% is split between Gravesham Borough Council, Kent Police and Kent Fire and Rescue.

All of these Authorities are TORY Controlled.

Kent County Council is based at Sessions House in Maidstone and is the strategic authority for the whole of Kent.
